ABOUT BERK TRADE AND BUSINESS SCHOOL

SCHOOL HISTORY
Berk Trade and Business School, with a facility conveniently accessible to students throughout the greater New York area, was founded in 1940 by its former owner, Irving Berk.

During the first years of its establishment, the School’s primary offering was instruction in the Building Trades, most notably in the field of Plumbing. These offerings were later expanded to include the Electrical and Automotive trades.

Berk Trade and Business School has been a pioneer in supplying students with superior knowledge of the building trades as well as providing the industry with qualified helpers since its founding in 1940.

The school was established in response to the emerging needs of the trade industry and the need for trained individuals who otherwise would not have the opportunity to be trained without the aid of organized unions. Berk Trade and Business School is a national model for urban building trade education.
